First of all I will talk about the 2012 London Olympics. When I first started this blog 2 fast years ago it was during the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games. During the Opening Ceremonies I was disappointed with how Canada was represented and didn't utilize all of what this great country has to offer. My hat is off to England for their Opening Ceremonies! They brought in Daniel Craig, David Beckham and of course Mr. Bean- Rowan Atkinson!! 3 of England's biggest stars both past and present. I really enjoyed the skit showing the evolution of the music using a mini love story and a kick ass dance party.
Anyways, I've been putting in lots of hours on my ass sitting on the couch watching as much Olympic action possible. As I write we are sitting with 6 medals. Way to go Canada!! One of the highlights for me is obviously the weightlifting. I now have a weightlifter helping my lifting so watching it at that high level is amazing. Congrats to Christine Girard for getting a medal this time!
We all know how hard it is to break physical and mental barriers and how deep you must dig to pull it off.
Here are the 63kg finals...
I can't wait for the men to start lifting!! From Beijing in 2008 it was a moment here... this is why I love lifting...

Impressive eh??
Is there such thing as too much Olympic action?? I think not...it only happens every 4 years. Enjoy!
There are alot of athletes competing these two weeks with extraordinary stories on how they got to where they are today.
Here's a recap (if you're still with me) of my recent strongman events day this past Sunday...
20 mins of foam rolling
10 minute walk up and down the street
Rack Pulls- worked up to 495 x 3 - approx. knee height (my top end is weaker than from the floor!)
No wonder I suck at Car Deadlifts.
Super Yoke- worked up to 610lbs x 60ft uphill -- NO BELT!! Happy with that for sure.
Circus DB- been having some impingement issues with my left shoulder again, will be careful on pressing from now until Nationals
80lbs x 3 x 3 sets for each arm - no big deal, a few strict press reps
Shut the events down there. Like I've said before, not going super nuts on event work. Just blast one or two events hard since I am focusing on powerlifting for Sept 15th. Feeling good.
